No. 46: Ms. GAO Fan (Tohoku University, completed AELC in March, 2022)

Hello, my name is Gao Fan. In the past year, I took part in AEL courses held by the Korean University and Taiwan Chengchi University. And I learned a lot from them.
Here, I want to share with you some AEL stories and then talk about what exactly I learned from them.
Firstly, in the A-P lesson, we could get first-hand information about education. For example, we could read the latest report about intergenerational communication between younger and elder and discuss it with classmates from all over the world. At the same time, we could get a temporal reply from the professor who is an expert in it.
Secondly, in the K-P and S-P lessons, we could get a lot of chances to discuss with outstanding group mates. Once a time, our group was asked to make web pages to help students study English by themselves. I was proud of it because it just took us one night to finish it, and we did a good job.
These experiences helped me a lot during my after-classes lives.
As a student who was major in Japanese, it is really hard to regain confidence in speaking English. Here, AELC gives me a platform to practice. Although I am now still not so influential in speaking English, I felt growing up a lot and even could take the TOEFL test after taking AEL courses. It is said that getting a start is half the battle, so why not get your start from AELC?
Secondly, it could also exercise our logical thinking and communication skills. For example, there are hundreds of group discussions in AEL courses, we need to come up with a conclusion and do a presentation after that brief talk, which needs our abilities to adapt to the expressions and thoughts of different people. Also, it needs us to sort out our thoughts logically so that everyone could get the point.
These two abilities are really important when we find a job. Whether it is a group interview or a one-on-one interview, we all need logical thinking or communication skills to attract the interviewer.
So, if you want to pick up your English or exercise your logical thinking, come and join AELC.
