No. 52: Ms. LIN Junqi (Nanjing Normal University, completed AELC in September, 2022)

Hi! My name is Junqi Lin. I took part in AELC from the 2021 winter to the 2022 summer. AELC is an amazing course that I was very lucky to attend.
My experience at AELC was terrific. During AEL Winter Course 2021, I opened a new perspective on global education. In the course of “Right to educate”, I understood that in the post-epidemic era, challenges and opportunities coexist in education. When facing the imbalance of educational base in the world, we do have the aspiration: all children share the same rights of living, development, and education. We aim at building children who are enthusiastic about life, confident, and empowered. According to this, there is a need to make our schools, communities, and society that foster positive children's development and use the power we possess to make a difference in children's development.
Looking ahead, I will mention what I learned from AEL 2022 Summer Course. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, has become a shared blueprint for the peace and well-being of all human beings and the planet. Education, either as a goal or a means for achieving the global goal of sustainable development, has been given special attention by the global society. Focusing on the challenges of education and SDGs in China’s context, I wish to frame a new social contract for educational development in SDGs in my further study.
Alongside this, AELC provided a platform for dialogue with educational researchers, and partner institutes are all well-known multicultural universities in Asia. All the teachers and partners I met at AELC are very kind. Because of the loving environment, I learned how to interact with different cultures to improve my interpersonal skills. I was also able to build confidence in myself. During my study journey at AELC, I was pushed academically. Having access to multiple intelligences allowed me to become a better learner.
I am forever thankful for my experience. AELC prepared me well beyond my graduate school years. I am grateful for all of the opportunities AELC has exposed me to and for what my experience has helped me achieve so far.
