No. 56: Ms.Wang Yaru (Nanjing Normal University, completed AELC in September, 2024)

Hi! My name is Wang Yaru, from NNU. In August 2024, I had the honor of attending the AEL summer course at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan as a student at Nanjing Normal University. The experience was not only an academic exploration, but also a profound baptism of personal vision and thought.
In this course, we discussed "Sustainable Development, Globalization, and the Reshaping of Education in the Asia-Pacific Region," "Cognitive Science of Human Communication," "Mental Health and Telepsychology," and "The Right to Education". These contents are not only the hot issues in the field of education today, but also important reflections on the future direction of education. Through the lectures, experts and scholars from different countries and regions shared their unique research results and insights, which made my understanding of education no longer limited to book knowledge, but extended to practical social applications and common challenges of human beings in cross-cultural context.
Among them, “Cognitive Science of Human Communication” made me realize that communication is not only the transmission of information, but also a cognitive process; while the discussion on “Mental Health and Telepsychotherapy” revealed the new trend of mental health services in the digital era. The combination of the two provides new ideas for future education models - focusing more on the psychological needs and development potential of individuals.
In addition, I was impressed by the interaction with students from Korea University and National Taiwan Normal University. Despite the differences in language and culture, we all share the same passion and pursuit of education. This cross-border friendship has deepened my understanding of the global education community and how only through mutual understanding and cooperation can we face the challenges of the future together.
This learning experience in the AEL course made me realize the responsibility I have as an education researcher. It is not only limited to improving one's professional knowledge, but more importantly, to have an international perspective and to be able to stand on a higher angle to examine and solve the problems in education. I believe that this valuable experience will have a far-reaching impact on my future research work and inspire me to keep moving forward in my educational career and contribute to the development of education in China and the world.
