No. 64 : Mr. Zhen Baohua (Nanjing Normal University, completed AELC in January, 2025)

This summer, I had the privilege of participating in the Asia Education Leadership Conference (AELC), an intellectually enriching journey that broadened my perspectives on global education. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the teachers, the School of Psychology and the university for the learning opportunities provided. I also wish to thank all the teachers of AELC for their painstaking guidance. Over two weeks, this program transformed me through cutting-edge knowledge, cross-cultural dialogue, and learning experiences.
The conference brought together educators and scholars from China, Japan, South Korea, and beyond, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange. Through expert lectures, policy analyses, and case studies, I explored innovative pedagogical approaches and technological advancements in education. Notably, discussions on sustainable development education and global curriculum reforms reshaped my understanding of education’s role beyond knowledge transmission - it is fundamentally about cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility in learners. These sessions challenged me to rethink conventional teaching methods and embrace interdisciplinary solutions.
One of the most valuable aspects was engaging with peers from diverse educational systems. This exposure fostered cultural empathy and highlighted the importance of adapting global best practices to local contexts. These interactions also strengthened my professional network, connecting me with like-minded educators who share my passion for educational innovation. Active participation in group projects honed my teamwork skills. These practical experiences solidified my conviction that effective leadership in education requires both visionary thinking and collaborative execution.
The AELC program planted seeds of inspiration that will continue to grow. I now see education as a dynamic ecosystem where innovation thrives through international collaboration. By staying curious, embracing cultural differences, and persistently refining my craft, I aim to contribute meaningfully to shaping inclusive and forward-thinking learning environments.
This summer was not just an academic experience, it was a clarion call to become a more thoughtful, adaptable, and impactful educator.
