Asia Education Leader 2023 Summer Course Pre-Study Series: Session 2
On June 14, we were pleased to invite Prof. Kiyong Byun, Professor of College of Education, Korea University, to the 2nd session of Asia Education Leader 2023 Summer Course Pre-study Series. During the pre-study session, Prof. Byun delivered a lecture about Challenges and Opportunities of South Korean Higher Education in Post COVID-19 Era. 33 participants from Tohoku University, National Chengchi University, Nanjing Normal University, and Korea University joined this session. Following Prof. Byun's talk, the students were divided into six groups to share their ideas and insights on the topics of “educational opportunities brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic that improved teaching-learning programs/activities at higher education institutions” and “preparations required by educators and/or administrators to effectively utilize the new educational opportunities brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic”. It was an inspiring event for all participants to absorb the knowledge of changing landscape of higher education after the COVID-19 pandemic and a deeper understanding of the difficulties and new opportunities encountered while responding to educational changes.
