Asia Education Leader Course Steering Committee Meeting 2023

On November 16, we were pleased to host the Asia Education Leader Course (AELC) Steering Committee Meeting 2023. It was the first on-site AELC Steering Committee Meeting after the pandemic. We welcomed colleagues of AELC partner universities from National Chengchi University, Nanjing Normal University, Korea University, and National Taiwan Normal University to join the meeting and discuss AELC's future plans.

The meeting started with an opening remark by Dr. Kazuhito Noguchi, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, to extend our sincere welcome and express our since gratitude for the continuous support and cooperation of all partner universities.

Following Dr. Noguchi's speech, representatives from AELC partner universities joined the signing ceremony of the AELC 2024-2025 Agreement and celebrated this new phase of collaboration.

After the ceremony, Dr. Jing Liu, Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Education, presented a review of AELC 2022-2023. In the review, he showed the development of the number of participants between 2014 and 2023, introduced the summer/winter courses conducted between 2022 and 2023, and explained the new joint course framework of AELC.

The last session of the meeting started with a discussion focusing on the construction of joint courses, incentives for student recruitment, and proposals for education, research, exchange, and publication for AELC 2.0. The representatives from AELC partner universities shared their opinions and suggestions for the future of AELC. Dr. Jainhua Wang (Dean of the School of Education Science, Nanjing Normal University) and Dr. Lee of College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University, proposed their respective institutes' plans for academic exchange and collaboration within the AELC framework.

This meeting allowed us to deepen our understanding of the history and development of the AELC over the past decade (2014-2023). Moreover, it enabled us to visualize collectively the future direction of AELC.

We look forward to more collaboration for AELC in the future!
