Asia Education Leader Forum 2024 Winter: Innovation for Future Education
The Asia Education Leader Course successfully held the Asia Education Leader Forum 2024 Winter on March 30, 2024. The theme of this Forum was Innovation for Future Education. It aimed at exploring innovative pedagogies and digital educational settings for future education. Based on presentations from AELC students’ expertise and observation, participants were invited to jointly discuss the prospects and challenges of the Future Education by embracing innovative strategies.
The Forum started with an opening address by Ms. Hsing-Mei Kang, College of Education, National Chengchi University, and Ms. Yiyao Cheng, Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University. Then, we were pleased to welcome AEL students to deliver five presentations about current use, challenges, and possibilities of innovation for future education. In the first presentation, Ms. Dan Liu and Ms. Yongshi Lu from Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University, introduced gamification teaching. In the second presentation, Mr. Chu-Sheng Wang, College of Education, National Chengchi University shared about international practice of educational for sustainable development pedagogy. In the third presentation, Mr. Gil-Yong Lee from Department of Education, Korea University, presented about key elements to make effective educational goal for the future education. Mr. Socop Arango Myron Alexander, College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University, in the fourth presentation, gave a presentation about current use and future outlook of Neuromyths. In the final presentation, Ms. Zhiyu Han and Ms. Xin Wen from Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University, introduced about how to use the ICT to improve the learning motivation of senior high school students, with a focus on STEM education. Following these insightful presentations, Ms. Terumi Koga, Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University, and Mr. Morena Jomar, College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University provided comprehensive summaries that facilitated reflection on each presentation.
In the second half of the forum, Ms. Yaru Wang and Ms. Qing Li from School of Education Science, Nanjing Normal, and Mr. Baohua Zhen and Ms. Jie Zhou from School of Psychology, Nanjing Normal University led the discussion about the prospects and challenges of future education by embracing innovative strategies. The Forum ended with concluding remarks by Professors from AELC partner universities.
