Asia Education Leader 2025 Winter Course Pre-Study Series now is open for application

Asia Education Leader Course (AELC) is now pleased to call for applications for the AEL 2025 Winter Course Pre-Study Series to be held between November and December, 2024.

 The series aims to provide diverse dialogues and discussions on reimagining Sustainability, Glocalization and Education between scholars and participants. Through the series, participants are expected to enhance their understanding of critical issues in education, globalization and sustainable development. Moreover, we wish they could consider and discuss alternative/new approaches for future education in the Asia-Pacific Region. It is also a preparation period for students who will join the AEL 2025 Winter Course.

 There are three sessions in the pre-study series between November and December. Each session in principle lasts for two hours. Within the two hours, there are three parts, including a scholar lecture, student group discussion, and group presentation and reflection.

 ◆Session 1: 16:30-18:30 November 15, 2024

     Topic: Critical Global Citizens: Building a Better World Starts with You and Me

     Lecturer: Dr.Chen-Wei Chang (National Taiwan Normal University)

◆Session 2: 17:00-19:00 November 29, 2024

     Topic: School Governance in A Global Context and in Asia

     Lecturer: Dr. Philip Wing Chan (Monash University)

◆Session 3: 16:30-18:30 December 20, 2024

     Topic: Futures of Education for a Sustainable Asia-Pacific

     Lecturer: Dr. Jing Liu (Tohoku University)

 

Students interested in education, globalization and sustainable development are welcome to join this series.

Students of the Graduate School of Education/Faculty of Education, Tohoku University, who registered for the “International Research and Practice Ⅱ” course must fully participate in this series.
