社会への還元・貢献を目指し、基礎研究から応用研究まで幅広く取り組んでいます。
作業療法士免許をもつ社会神経科学研究者として、人の社会性に関わる脳とこころの働きについて研究を進めてきました。作業療法士や保健師、心理学者、脳科学者など多様な分野の専門家とチームを組み、高齢者が自分たちの手で作り上げていく新たな居場所「コミュニティー・シェッド」の運営・効果検証も行っています。この居場所を起点に、地域の孤独・孤立問題が少しでも予防されることを願って研究活動を進めています。人を支援する学問領域と人を理解する学問領域の架け橋になることを目指しています。
