Research on changes in social identity and formation of intergroup and interdisciplinary trust
Broadly, my research examines how individuals navigate conflicting ideas and uncertainties regarding their worldviews and social identities. I study a variety of topics including loneliness and social isolation, predictors and consequences of religious deidentification, and mechanisms that drive (or disrupt) interdisciplinary collaborations. Additionally, I study how people evaluate reconciliatory efforts in interpersonal conflicts and how group-based connections and trust develop over time. I explore these topics in laboratory and online experiments using social cognitive and behavioral approaches, as well as secondary data analyses using structural equation modeling (SEM).
