On December 17, it was our sincere honor to welcome Dr. Libing Wang, Chief of Section for Educational Innovation and Skills Development (EISD) based at UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Wang visited the Graduate School of Education to attend our international symposium entitled Higher Education for A Just and Sustainable World: Transforming teaching and learning in the Asia-Pacific Region.

On the morning of December 17, Prof. Kazuhito Noguchi, Prof. Hideki Kozima, Prof. Hideo Ambo, Prof. Jing Liu, and Prof. Lei Cao met with Dr. Wang at the Dean’s Office. In the meeting, Dr. Wang conveyed the greetings from Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, Director of UNESCO Bangkok, to celebrate our institutional collaboration and partnership over the past three years. Then, with the introduction to the Graduate School of Education by Prof. Liu, Dr. Wang and Tohoku team discussed possibilities for future collaboration for research and education between the two institutions.

With the renewal of the academic exchange agreement between the two institutions in March 2023, we look forward to having more collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok Office in the coming years.
