On June 12, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Jason Alinsunurin (De La Salle University) to join the 4th session of TU-EDU Talks 2023 on Philippine education reform. Dr. Alinsunurin, in the beginning of the lecture, provided us a review of education policy in the Philippines. Then, he introduced the extent of the learning crisis in the Philippines by providing two studies. In the 1st study, the speaker explained the reasons for the severe underperformance of Filipino students in the PISA. In the 2nd study, the speaker shared his findings of the impact of parental engagement on children's academic achievement. In the discussion session, participants discussed about teacher education, ICT education and their impact on education in the Philippines.

 

6月12日、TU-EDU Talks 2023の第4セッションとして、Jason Alinsunurin博士（De La Salle University）をお迎えし、フィリピンの教育改革についてご講演いただきました。冒頭、Dr. Alinsunurin はフィリピンの教育政策について概説しました。そして、フィリピンにおける学習危機の程度について、2つの研究を紹介されました。1つ目の研究では、PISAにおけるフィリピンの生徒の深刻な成績不振の理由が説明されました。2つ目の研究では、親の関与が子どもの学力に与える影響についての研究結果を紹介されました。ディスカッションでは、教師教育、ICT教育、そしてそれらがフィリピンの教育に与える影響について議論されました。
