2024年1月29日から2月1日にかけて、ユネスコ東アジア地域事務所（ユネスコ北京）教育プログラム・スペシャリストのロバート・パルア氏が東北大学を訪問されました。
   1月31日には、パルア氏による公開講義「教育の未来」が行われました。講義では、ユネスコの報告書「Reimagining Our Futures Together： と題されたユネスコ報告書の概念を包括的に解説した。このイベントには、会場参加者19名、オンライン参加者18名の合計37名が参加した。
   また、1月31日には、パルアさんは小嶋秀樹教授、安保英勇准教授、劉靖准教授との会合に参加し、ユネスコと教育学研究科の今後の協力体制について話し合った。
   このほか、パルア副学長は東松島市を訪問。この訪問では、教育委員会、地元の小学校、地元のNGOを表敬訪問し、日本の地域事情における教育実践を理解した。さらに、宮城県宮城第一高等学校で行われた探究学習発表会にも参加した。
   今回の訪問により、ユネスコ北京と東北大学大学院教育学研究科との相互理解とコミュニケーションが深まりました。今後の協力関係を楽しみにしています！   

 

We were pleased to welcome Mr. Robert Parua, Education Programme Specialist of UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia (UNESCO Beijing), to visit Tohoku University between January 29 and February 1, 2024. 

   During the visit, Mr. Parua delivered an open lecture on Futures of Education to our students and faculty members on Jan.31. In the lecture, he comprehensively interpreted the concepts involved in the UNESCO report titled "Reimagining Our Futures Together: A New Social Contract for Education." There were 37 participants took part in this event, including 19 onsite participants and 18 online participants.

   On January 31, Mr. Parua also joined a meeting with Prof. Hideki Kozima, Prof. Hideo Ambo, and Prof. Jing Liu to discuss future institutional cooperation between UNESCO and the Graduate School of Education.

   Besides, during the visit, Mr. Parua also visited Higashimatsushi City. During this visit, he paid a courtesy visit to the education committee, local primary school and local NGOs to understand the educational practices in the local context of Japan. Moreover, he joined the Inquiry Studies Presentation Session at Miyagi Prefecture Miyagi First Senior High School.

   This visit enhanced mutual understanding and communication between UNESCO Beijing and the Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University. We look forward to our future collaboration!
