About the seminar:
Research demonstrates that diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI/EDI) are integral to delivering research excellence and a world-leading research and innovation system. In the UK, it is recognised that nurturing and supportive research culture is considered a critical driver in delivering research excellence. However, institutional barriers and challenges remain in creating more inclusive and equitable research cultures and environments. In this talk, Professor Lynn Ang will introduce the UK research landscape and the institutional priorities of UCL and the Institute of Education (IOE) Faculty to promote DEI/EDI and a healthy working environment for the research community.

About the speaker:
Prof Ang is world-leading expert in early childhood care and education with research interests in early childhood education and development, early learning, educational, social and global inequalities, teacher education, workforce development, international policy and development, and the interdisciplinary fields of early childhood education, child health and early development. Her research is focused on the social, cultural and policy influences on education in preschools, schools, home-based and non-formal settings.
