2026年2月27日から3月9日にかけて、International Education and Development Fieldwork 2026がタイにて実施され、本学学部生11名が参加しました。
本フィールドワークでは、学生たちはタイの都市部および農村部にあるさまざまな公立学校を訪問し、異なる社会的背景のもとで展開されている教育環境の多様性について学びました。現地での観察や交流を通して、学生たちは社会的文脈の違いによって生じる教育発展の格差について理解を深める貴重な機会を得ました。
また、学生たちはユネスコ・バンコク事務所を訪問し、持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）の推進におけるユネスコの役割について学びました。さらに、JICAタイ事務所では、タイにおける新たな発展段階を支援するJICAの取り組みや課題について理解を深めました。
本プログラムはチュラロンコン大学との協力のもとで実施され、学生たちは現地の教師、大学生、高校生と交流する機会を得ました。こうした交流を通して、タイと日本の教育や社会の違いについて理解を深めるとともに、「発展とは何か」「学ぶことや生きることの意味とは何か」を改めて考える契機となりました。また、本フィールドワークは両大学間のパートナーシップをさらに強化する機会ともなりました。

The International Education and Development Fieldwork 2026
The International Education and Development Fieldwork 2026 was successfully held between February 27 and March 9, 2026, in Thailand. There were 11 undergraduate students who took part in this course.
During the fieldwork, students visited different types of public schools in Thailand to explore the diversity of educational environment in urban and rural context of Thailand. It was a precious opportunity for the students to enhance their understanding of the uneven development of schools in different social contexts through the fieldwork. Besides, they visited UNESCO Bangkok Office to learn the role of UNESCO for promoting the SDGs. Also, they visited JICA Thailand Office to learn JICA’s initiatives and the challenges for promoting new stage of development in Thailand.
With collaboration from Chulalongkorn University, students could have opportunities to talk with local teachers, local university students and high school students to deepen their understanding of the differences of education and society between Thailand and Japan. More importantly, the experiences have inspired the students to rethink the meaning of development and meaning of studying and life. At the same time, this fieldwork further strengthened partnership between the two universities.
