Asia Education Leader Course (AELC) Winter 2026 successfully hosted by National Taiwan Normal University and National Chengchi University

The AELC Winter Course 2026 (WC2026) was hosted jointly by National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and National Chengchi University (NCCU) from February 2-11, 2026 and held at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. Sixty-three participants from seven partner institutions took part in the course, making it the largest AELC to date. Students from Tohoku University, National Chengchi University, Nanjing Normal University, Korea University, and National Taiwan Normal University, and the newest AELC partner, Chulalongkorn University, joined the course. Three subjects were offered by NTNU and NCCU instructors in line with the KAS-P Curriculum (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Practice): (K-P) Inclusive Education, (A-P) Essentials of Leadership and Group Dynamics and (S-P) Individual Action in Global Social Change: Global Citizenship Awareness and Youth Solidarity.

(K-P) Inclusive Education, taught by Dr. Hsiao-Lan Sharon Wang of NTNU, explored theoretical foundations and practical applications of inclusive education, giving students ample opportunity to participate in group discussion and debate.

Dr. Gregory Ching led the A-P subject, Essentials of Leadership and Group Dynamics, demonstrating foundational concepts of leadership through myriad hands-on activities in which group dynamics were experienced rather than simply taught.

Dr. Chen-Wei Chang of NTNU wrapped up the course with the S-P subject, Individual Action in Global Social Change: Global Citizenship Awareness and Youth Solidarity, structuring the class around a student action plan expanding student awareness of and agency toward tackling global issues important to them.

This concludes the fifth round of AELC. The Summer 2026 Course will be hosted by Chulalongkorn University and Tohoku University in Bangkok.
